Experiencing Data Access Issue in Azure Portal for Many Data Types – 03/14 – Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 03/14, 06:38 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 03/14, 04:38 UTC and that during the 2 hours that it took to resolve the issue 7.4% of customers experienced issues while accessing application insights apps in azure portal.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to an issue with one of the internal services in Application insights.

We continue to investigate issues within Application Insights. Root cause is not fully understood at this time. Some customers continue to experience data access issues in azure portal. We are working to establish the start time for the issue, initial findings indicate that the problem began at 03/14 ~04:30 UTC. We currently have no estimate for resolution.
