Experiencing Data Access Issue in Azure Portal for Many Data Types – 05/10 – Resolved

Application Insights experienced data access issue as the login to the Azure portal timed out for users during the impact window. We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 05/10, 20:12 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 05/10, 19:32 UTC and that during the 40 minutes that it took to resolve the issue around 15% of customers experienced failures.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to recent configuration changes in the system which broke the authentication for users.
