Experiencing Data Access Issue in Azure Portal for Multiple Data Types – 01/18 – Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 01/18, 03:45 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 01/18, 01:45 UTC and that during the 2 hours that it took to resolve the issue ~ 6% of customers experienced  Data Access Issues in the Azure Portal. 
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to an issue in one of our dependent platform services..
  • Lessons Learned: We collected the necessary logs from the impacted nodes for the further investigation
  • Incident Timeline: 2 Hours - 01/18,  01:45 UTC through 01/18, 03:45 UTC

We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.
