Experiencing Data Latency for Many Data Types – 10/12 – Resolved

We’ve confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 10/12, 02:45 PM UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 10/12, 11:30 AM UTC and that during the 3 hours and 15 minutes hours that it took to resolve the issue some customers who send their data to Western Europe Region would have experienced data loss and data latency.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to an issue in the configuration of one of our dependent services.
  • Lessons Learned: We have collected required telemetry data during the impact period which we will utilize to avoid such re-occurrences in future.

We are aware of issues within Application Insights and are actively investigating. Customers who send their data to Western Europe Region may experience Data Latency. The following data types are affected: Customer Event,Dependency,Exception,Metric,Page Load,Page View,Performance Counter,Request,Trace.
