Experiencing Data Access Issue in Azure Portal for Many Data Types – 09/20 – Resolved

We’ve confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 09/20, 11:00 UTC. Our logs show the incident impacted in two specific time periods- 09/20, 6:45 AM UTC-7:00 AM UTC and 10:35 AM UTC-11:00 AM UTC and that during the 40 minutes that it took to resolve the issue up to 20% of customers would have experienced slowness in accessing Application Insights Data .
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to an issue in one of our dependent platform services.
  • Lessons Learned: We have collected required telemetry data during the impact period which we will utilize to avoid such re-occurrences in future.
  • Incident Timeline:  40 Minutes -Between 6:45 AM UTC-7:00 AM UTC and 10:35 AM UTC-11:00 AM UTC
