Experiencing Alerting failure for WAD Alerting- 09/13 – Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 9/13, 21:40 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 9/12, 10:28 UTC and that during the 35 hours that it took to resolve the issue a small subset of customers might have experienced issue with the WAD Alerting feature.

  • Lessons Learned: We will evaluate to see if we need to add additional telemetry on our end.

We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.

We are aware of issues within Application Insights and are actively investigating. Some percentage of customers who have enabled WAD Alerting and are using this feature may experience Alerting failure for their cloud services. Please note that only those customers who are using WAD Extensions are affected. Rest of the service is not affected due to this issue.
