Experiencing Data Latency for Many Data Types – 05/11 – Resolved

We’ve confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 05/11 13:00 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 05/11 06:40 UTC and that during the 6 hours and 20 minutes that it took to resolve the issue customers would have experienced multiple windows of data latency.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to failures in one of our back end service. We are doing further root cause in order to make our services more resilient in the future.
  • Lessons Learned: We continue to work and research ways to make our system more resilient so that this does not happen as often in the future.

Root cause has been isolated to failures in one of our back end service which is impacting multiple data types. We have taken the steps to mitigate the issue. current data processing is now working as expected. Some customers may experience data latency during the impacted time period and we estimate another 4 hours to recover fully.
