Experiencing Data Latency for Many Data Types – 01/30 – Resolved

We’ve confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 31 January 2016 03:00 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 30 January 2016 22:00 UTC and during the incident period customers experienced latency for viewing the data..
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to one the backend node went unresponsive and not processing the data as expected. rebooting bad node resolved the issue.
  • we are closely watching our system, which is reporting healthy status at the moment.

We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.

Root cause has been isolated to one the backend node having an issue which was impacting customer data processing . To address this issue we have rebooted the impacted node/VM. Data Processing is now working as expected. Some customers may experience data latency for few hours until all the backlogs are addressed.
