Experiencing Data Latency for Many Data Types – 01/03 – Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 1/3, 11:30 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 1/3, 06:10 UTC and that during the 5 hours 20 minutes that it took to resolve the issue customers would have experienced data latency. Our monitoring system is healthy and all data streams are processing current data however some customer will continue to see missing data ingested during impact duration. We are investigating ways to backfill this data.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to performance degradation of dependent service due to surge in traffic.
  • Lessons Learned: Pending on RCA. Additional telemetry will be collected to understand this issue further.
