Experiencing Data Latency for Many Data Types – 10/5 – Resolved

We have confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 10/5, 05:05 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 10/5, 04:40 UTC and that during the 25 minutes that it took to resolve the issue some customers experienced latency in their request and performance counter data. 

Root Cause: The failure was due to a communication failure to a back-end service that did not recover gracefully.
Lessons Learned: We are continually working on improvements to mitigation and resolution strategies and technology.
