Experiencing Data Latency for Many Data Types – 9/16 – Resolved

We’ve confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 9/16, 04:30 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 9/15, 23:35 UTC and that during the 5 hours that it took to resolve the issue some of the customers may have experienced high latency for most of the data types.

Root Cause: The failure was due to some compute instances having higher than normal queue build up thereby causing them to fall behind on indexing data

We are aware of issues within Application Insights and are actively investigating. Some customers may experience Data Latency. The following data types are affected: Availability, Customer Event, Dependency, Metric, Page Load, Page View, Performance Counter, Request, Trace.

DevOps are engaged and investigating the issue.
