Experiencing Data Access Issue in Azure Portal – 8/19 – Resolved

We’ve confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 8/19/2015, 11:40 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 8/19/2015, 4:50 UTC and that during the 6 hours and 50 minutes that it took to resolve the issue some customers may have experienced errors when loading some of the Application Insights parts and graphs.

Root Cause: The failure was due to configuration setting in one of the backend services.

Our DevOps team continues to investigate issues within Application Insights. Root cause is not fully understood at this time. Some customers continue to experience errors when loading some of the Application Insights parts and graphs.  We are working to establish the start time for the issue, initial findings indicate that the problem began at 8/19/2015 04:50 UTC. We currently have no estimate for resolution.
