Shared Learning Collaborative (SLC) Camp Boston, September 29-30, 2012

What is SLC Camp Boston?

The Shared Learning Collaborative (SLC) Camp Boston is a hands-on event that bridges education and technology. The Boston event, which is a targeted two-date combination Tutorial and Tagathon, provides educators and developers the opportunity to learn, use, and build on top of a new system that is intended to make usage of classroom applications easier.

The SLC is working to make personalized learning a reality for every U.S. student by improving the usefulness, variety and affordability of education technology. The initiative is a state-led effort. The Council of Chief State School Officers is coordinating the multistate alliance and ensuring the new technology meets the needs of the states and reflects their input. Initially, Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, New York and North Carolina are participating in the pilot of this collaborative effort that will eventually be available to all states. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Carnegie Corporation of New York are providing the initial funding.
