Microsoft Natal Device Is Seen at TechFest

Microsoft’s Project Natal is an add-on device to its Xbox game console that allows for hands-free gaming. Quentin Hardy reports at Forbes.com that “As a device Natal is a thin bar about 12 inches across, with sensors that measure a room's depth, the available light and the size and motion of up to two gamers standing in front of the machine and multiple players taking turns. The real beauty of it is the software, capable of almost instantly inferring a subject's motion, which is reflected by an onscreen avatar in a game.”
