Microsoft is Cloud First at TechEd North America 2013, Day 1 Highlights

Big data. Cloud. Bring your own device. All of these converging technology trends demand a response from IT.  TechEd 2013 in New Orleans Louisiana is the place to be to learn about developing, deploying, securing, managing and updating cloud solutions for your business.

Today Microsoft Server and Tools President Satya Nadella posted to the Official Microsoft Blog, an email he sent to employees about the progress we’ve made completely transforming our products, culture and practices to be cloud-first.  See his “The Enterprise Cloud Era” video to hear his additional thoughts.  An embedded player option is provided just below for your convenience.

Also today at TechEd North America 2013, Microsoft Corp. introduced a portfolio of new solutions to help businesses thrive in the era of cloud computing and connected devices. In today’s keynote address, Server & Tools Corporate Vice President Brad Anderson and fellow executives showcased how new offerings across client, datacenter infrastructure, public cloud and application development help deliver the most comprehensive, connected enterprise platform.  See Brad's blog post for more information.

In addition to the information from Satya and Brad, we also wanted to make sure you are aware of some of the other TechEd announcements and sessions that provide additional depth on the Windows, System Center, SQL Server and the Visual Studio products that are coming to market.

On the Data Platform Insider blog you'll see the SQL Server announcement from Microsoft Corporate Vice President, Quentin Clark.  Today we also announced some fantastic enhancements to Windows Azure via a blog post on Microsoft Corporate Vice President, Scott Guthrie's blog.

After all of this, you can be sure that there will be plenty of goodness coming out of TechEd North America this week, so to help you along, here are some of our top picks from the Server-Cloud-Tools session offerings that you won't want to miss:
