Starting Your Own .NET User Group

Some folks from Nebraska recently asked me give guidance on how to start your own .NET user group (DNUG).  Here is an excerpt of the guidance I suggested:

===

Start here:  https://www.codezone.com/AboutUserGroups.CodezoneCom?ActiveID=2489

This will get you registered in our tool to be recognized as a user group and to start getting some swag.

Next, go here and get the ball rolling on becoming an INETA recognized UG so they can get some resources to you:  https://ineta.org/Resources/ViewResources.aspx

While you are doing that you will need to find a location for you to meet at.  I suggest a training facility or college as they tend to have all the resources for a good DNUG meeting.

Make sure you sign up for the MSDN Flash (https://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-gb/flash/default.aspx) and then email the editor after you get your first issue to get your DNUG listed on the Flash.

If you want to start up your own user group you can also just email me and we can walk though the process together.  the main point is that you are not alone in the process and we will hook you up any way we can.
