VC++ Powertools (and GRETA)

I must confess I just discovered those: GRETA (“gives you all the power of Perl 5 regular expressions in your C++ applications“) and VC++Powertools.

I haven’t tried them yet but when I will, I’ll tell you. Have you?

  1. I am really curious about the performance. C++ is usually known for its low level code and regular expressions tend to be rather high level.

    It might be interesting to see an engine that generates regular expression matching code based on the regular expression to make real fast tight code. Jack of all trades routines tend to be slower than dedicated code.
