Day 3 on Teched 2003 - Israel
Teched has ended.
After all the booze and the party we had some problem with waking up early.
Alik Levin was giving a presentation on asp.net security and how he implemented it in one of the biggest bank in Israel.
Since we work with him and he is so supportive and nice, we woke up and went to hear him. It was great , he's always joking and he just knows how to make a good presentation.
After that we went to the hotel to get out stuff and we went back to hear some more presentation.
At 14:00 we had the the closing session.
I sat next to Jackie Goldstein from he's the ceo of https://www.renaissance.co.il .
I told him that I remembered him from a presentation he gave 5 years earlier about serializing recordsets using xml in the old good com days.
We had a fascinating presentation by dr. david passig about technology of the 4th dimension.
He had some fascination facts about the speed of light and some words about the how we pass information , how we did it 10000 years ago and do we do it today.
It seems (as he claims) that the people that makes money are not the ones that invent technology buy those who use it. When he said that he added "Except for MS". But does MS invent technology or buys it from other companies and spread it?
When he finished I talked to him about Isaac Asimov and his psychohistory theory.
Asmiov claimed that when u make a prediction about the future u can't tell the world what it is because in doing so you will change your own prediction.
It was very important for dr. david passig to say that he wasn't making any prophecies in the lecture, just giving us some points to think about what the future holds for us. I enjoyed it and I'm going to see some more from him when I'll have time.
I got some good feedback after my lecture yesterday, I can sum it up to lot's of fun.
All in all I had a great time meeting lots of new people and giving my first big presentation.
Hope I'll be there next year too.
