My first Windows Phone 7 app! Stock Arbiter

So Windows Phone hits the market and like any curious .Net developer the platform catches my eye.  Of course it is built on .Net and yet another technology I’ve been waiting to find a reason to learn, Silverlight.  So like any other curious developer I began to delve into the world of the mobile application.  I downloaded the Windows Phone 7 SDK and started playing the the samples provided on the App Hub (https://create.msdn.com) web site.  The tools and the samples are pretty straight forward.  There is also the Windows Phone toolkit which contains several controls that can prove helpful to your UI.  If you are already a Silverlight developer then you too are a Windows Phone 7 developer! 

The power of the platform, WPF, Silverlight, and Silverlight for WP7 really provide a compelling story and hopefully soon we shall see the true write once run anywhere type of development we all dream of!  As for my application:

Stock Arbiter

Stock Arbiter is an application that will help the novice and experienced investor quickly evaluate a Stock based on the Fundamental and Technical details needed to determine if the company is, 1 a solid (Fundamental) investment AND 2 is it time to buy based on the Charts (Technical).

The information provided is based on the key ratios outlined in the book Rule #1 by Phil Town. With the ability to get a daily snap shot of a particular stock you will be able to quickly (without calculations) see the current sticker price, margin of safety to determine the quality of the investment. With technical keys such as the, Volume, MACD and Slo Stochastic you have the ability to determine if the stock is ready to BUY or SELL!

 
The flexibility of the settings, the top stocks listing, and the ability to save your favorites so that you can quickly track their movements allows the investor to make solid decisions in no time at all!
