Is anyone going to Oshkosh?

I will be leaving Tomorrow morning for Oshkosh, Wisconsin... home of EAA's AirVenture - the worlds largest air show.  Some of you know, I'm an avid pilot and plane builder.  Well... in the Experimental Aircraft Business, AirVenture is THE place to be.

As usual, I will also be speaking up there for NASA.  This year's topic is "Low cost situational awareness displays."  Well, for the past year, I've been working on a pretty revolutionary idea and the public unvailing of my concept will be on Wednesday at 4:00pm in the NASA Pavallion.  If you're not familar, I worked on a little prototype a while back that utilized a triple redundant processor core and sensors to build a very low cost "Glass Cockpit."  Well, this idea minuartizes this concept to the point that it will fit in your pocket AND eliminates the requirement for a display inside the cockpit. 😉  Curious?

Well, I can't say anything else until Wednesday, but I'lll post some pictures, etc, when I get back.

I'll be hanging out with the FlightSim guys a bit while I'm up there, so feel free to stop by.  Amanda will be working the NASA PAV booth the whole week as well.  PATA is the follow on to the NASA SATS/NCAM program that I was working on a while back.

See you in a week!

I’m jealous. Wish I could get away to it this year. Seems like LOADS of new announcements coming out every day.

Please make sure you post a blog entry here about your speech on your new PFD solution. I’ve been intrigued about this since you first posted about it last year (or longer, don’t remember).

Have you seen the new Aspen Avionics PFD that fits into a 3" hole and covers two holes? Amazing how the pricing on these things just keeps falling.
