The Windows SDK June CTP is Live

I’d like to introduce myself. I’m Abhita Chugh, a summer intern with the Windows SDK team. Prior to this, I spent an amazing year at Stanford University where I’m pursuing my MS in Computer Science. I’m really excited about starting here & am looking forward to a great summer in the Puget Sound!

We’re happy to announce that the June CTP for the Windows SDK is now live at the Download Center. Both the web setup and the ISO of the setup are live. Please see the download details page for the exact details of the download, and for the links to the files. Note that this CTP is intended for users of Windows Vista build 5456 and the .NET Framework 3.0 Runtime June CTP.

The Windows SDK for the June CTP release introduces several new features. The setup has been revamped and you can now decide where you wish to install the SDK. Also, samples can now be installed to a separate location. For instance, if you wish to build samples, they can be installed to a location that is not under “Program Files”. We encourage you to look at the Windows SDK documentation (Getting Started -> Welcome to Windows SDK -> What’s New in the Windows SDK) for the complete list of new and updated features.

For a complete description of known and late-breaking issues, please check the SDK Readme.
