Useful Keyboard Shortcuts for Windows 10

Everybody loves keyboard shortcuts, it may only save a few seconds of our time but can be extremely useful especially if you are an IT professional. I have combined a list of 23 Windows 10 shortcuts which I hope everyone will find useful. Some are new to Windows 10 and some are carried over from Windows 8.1. If anyone would like to know a shortcut not listed below, please message me.

 

New for Windows 10

 

1. Windows + C

Use Cortana to search the web and Windows
(speech)

 

2. Windows + I

Open Windows 10 settings

 

3. Windows + S

Use Cortana to search the web and Windows (text)

 

4. Windows + Tab

View all virtual desktops

 

5. Windows + A

Open Windows10 Action Centre (notifications)

 

6. Windows + Ctrl + D

Create new virtual desktop

 

7. Windows + Ctrl + F4

Close current virtual desktop

 

8. Windows + Ctrl + [Left][Right]

Move to the next virtual desktop to the
left/right

 

9. Windows + [Left][Right][Up][Down]

Snaps the windows to the left/right/top/bottom of the screen

 

10. Windows + H

Share content (if sharing is available)

 

11. Windows + K

Connect to wireless audio or video device

 

12. Windows + X

Open Start button context menu

 

13. Windows + G

Opens the Windows 10 Game Bar for in-game screenshots and recordings

 

14. Windows + [1][2][…]

Open pinned programs in the order listed in the
task bar
