I'm curious if anyone has looked into how laptops with Nvidia Optimus and AMD PowerXpress work with UWP?

Normal executables can export the NvOptimusEnablement and AmdPowerXpressRequestHighPerformance variables with a value of 1 and the driver will force the high performance GPU to be used for your application.

I'm not sure how Windows Store execution works or if the drivers know to check store apps.  I assume it would get the call to initiate the GPU and then get the process handle of the application initiating the call and check for the export, so maybe it wouldn't matter if it's a store app or not.

Then there's the issue of trying to even export these in C#.  The closest thing I've found is lucasmagder.com/.../exporting-data-symbols-in-c-for-nvidia-optimus

The difference between Intel HD and a high end GPU can be quite large, so these kinds of issues have plagued countless unaware users and developers.
