Who you are?clip_image002

Shawn Mclean, a software engineer at Management Control Systems who is passionate about creating high performance systems and processes at scale. I am born and raised in Jamaica, attended Northern Caribbean University for a Bsc in Computer Science and have been let loose in the industry in 2010. My interest at both work and outside is ALM, primarily in continuously delivery and build systems. Outside of work, I contribute to a few open source projects and participate on community knowledge sites.

What makes you “tick”?

I have a drive for knowledge, I always want to know how things work and finding ways to make them better. I have a passion for technology, especially the software engineering field. I do not work well with inefficient processes thus I love the challenge of improving them as best as possible. The drive for knowledge, passion for technology and the love for improvement works well together as the software engineering field is still considered young, changes rapidly and will always contain inefficiencies. I love to share and give back to the community, hence why I'm excited to contribute to projects alongside the ALM Rangers.

Where you live?

Kingston, Jamaica.

Why are you active in the Rangers program?

There are so many areas in build automation and continuous delivery to improve on. Being active with the Rangers mean that my contribution to the community will reach more people quickly.

What is the best Rangers project you worked in and why?

I hope to start contributing to projects on the TFS Build side of things.
