Introducing the Visual Studio ALM Rangers – Casey O'Mara

This post is part of an ongoing series of Rangers introductions. SeeRanger Index (Who is Who?)for more details.

Who you are?

A Sr. Software Test Engineer in Microsoft ITphoto60

What makes you “tick”?

I’m very passionate about Testing and Software Development.   I’ve always been driven by “why” and understanding how things work.  I enjoy solving difficult problems, and have been accused more than once of saying all things are automatable.  I’m a techie and enjoy any new gadgets or gizmos.  (Q was always my favorite in the James Bond Movies)

I love to camp and hike in my spare time.  While on vacation you’ll usually find me underwater scuba diving, and I occasionally still DJ live events, weddings and receptions in my spare time.

Where you live?

Currently living in Kenmore, WA

Why are you active in the Rangers program?

Rangers don’t just scratch the surface of technology, but really get in and give you practical knowledge of a subject that you can use from day one.   They not only ask why, but they answer it.

What is the best Rangers project you worked in and why?

Test Tooling Guidance and not just because I was in it, but the team was amazing, and our lead Tony Whitter really brought us all together to deliver our very best.
