Who are you?
I´m Stefan Mieth, one of the Application Lifecycle Management consultants of the AIT TeamSystemPro Team. We assist our customers on their way to develop better products. To achieve this task we support our customers with know how about .NET and ALM, best practices and our nuggets like WordToTFS or the new Dependency Manager.
What makes you tick?
On my projects I always see two elements: people and tools. And – obviously – one is worth nothing without the other. You just need a tough team and a good tooling. Put these two elements together, shake it, season it with wisdom, learn how it works and bring it to perfection as a whole: That makes the magic. Easy, isn´t it? 😉
Where you live?
I live near Stuttgart, right in the middle between Porsche and Mercedes.
Where is the place you call home?
It depends on the current weekday. During workdays, home is somewhere between taxi, high speed train, customer and hotel. Seen more pragmatic, on the other days I call the streets and the garage my home where I can drive and work on my bikes.
Why are you active in the Rangers program?
The biggest point about this is: I like to share experiences, the good and also the bad ones are both of the same importance. I think together we can achieve more. If we keep an open mind and share what is useful we can aim past our target. And as the leaders we owe it to the other teams to share these insights.
What is the best Rangers project you worked in and why?
There are some very good Ranger projects out there. For me there are two of them very outstanding: The TFS Integration Platform and the Architecture Guidance. The Integration Platform allows us to easily migrate between different projects, not only TFS. It often helps to show up how you can switch over with little effort. The Architecture Guidance shows up how you can make the most out of your project. It provides guidance on how to use the tools the right way, arrange the models and validate the output against the original architecture.
