Introducing the Visual Studio ALM Rangers – Tony Whitter

This post is part of an ongoing series of Rangers introductions. See An index to all Rangers covered on this blog for more details.

Who you are?
Tony Whitter #2Tony Whitter, an independent software engineer, IT consultant and trainer. I was born and raised in the UK then emigrated to France. I’m a keen skier, grow exotic chilli peppers and like off-the-wall art, especially Salvador Dali’s sculptures.

What makes you “tick”?
I’m passionate about technology, especially software development. I enjoy a challenge, I believe that if a job’s worth doing it’s worth doing properly and I like attention to detail. I find education and skills-transfer rewarding and have been involved in community-facing IT initiatives since the early ‘80’s.

Where do you live?
Near Chamonix in the French Alps facing Mont Blanc

Where is the place you call home?
Near Chamonix in the French Alps facing Mont Blanc!

Why are you active in the Rangers program?
See “What makes you tick!”  Winking smile

What is the best Rangers project you worked in and why?
That would have to be the Visual Studio Team Foundation Server Branching Guide as that’s the team I’ve just joined!  Smile
