Introducing the Visual Studio ALM Rangers – John Bergman

This post is part of an ongoing series of Rangers introductions. See An index to all Rangers covered on this blog for more details.

Who Are you?

I am a software Entrepreneur, I always have been. I spend my days developing cool new software for several customers, mostly in the Justice space. I have been developing software for clients since I was 14 (I got addicted young). I am extremely hardworking and always up for a new challenge.

JohnBergman Family-3What makes you “tick”?

I love the bleeding edge; I have lots of battle scars to prove it.  I spend all of my extra time reading, researching and pushing the limits. Some call me a work-a-holic, to which I respond that there are not enough hours in the day to learn everything I want to know.

When I’m not working, I love to spend time with my kids, whether it be a competitive Xbox session, fishing, or just watching a movie, sometimes we play an RPG MMO together, as they say… “Nothing like killing monsters and casting spells to pass the time”.

Where do you live?

Southlake, Texas, just north of the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area in a nice home with a wonderfully supportive family.

Where is the place you call home?

Home is where my wife and kids are.

Why are you active in the rangers program?

Taking part in the Rangers program will enable me to work with and learn from other experts.  This added insight will help me to provide good guidance to customers, members of the local .Net community, and others.  It allows me to exercise my passion for information and knowledge, while also providing a conduit to share the information with others.  I have worked with several companies customizing their TFS environment, heavily customized my environments, and want to share some of the ideas and things I have learned from my experiences.

What is the best rangers project for you to worked on and why?

I am new to the team (I like all of the projects).
