Introducing the Visual Studio ALM Rangers – Tina Erwee

This post is part of an ongoing series of Rangers introductions. See An index to all Rangers covered on this blog for more details.

Tina ErweeWho you are?

Tina Erwee, Senior Premier Field Engineer – Application Lifecycle Management and TFS.

What makes you “tick”?

I love to make things work better. This can be the processes I see at work or at customers, a tool that is frustratingly unfriendly or simply getting the kids ready for school in the morning.

Where do you live?

I live in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Where is the place you call home?

I call Cape Town in South Africa home. It is a gorgeous, vibrant city and the surroundings are tranquil with mountains, beaches and wonderful wine farms. It is also home because this is where I grew up and where my extended family lives.

Why are you active in the Rangers program?

As a ranger I can help to fill the gaps in TFS and Microsoft’s ALM program based on my experience and what I see at our customers. Ultimately I can help make a great product better.

What is the best Rangers project you worked in and why?

The TFS Requirements Management Guidance is very close to my heart. I have been involved in too many projects that failed because of poorly managed requirements. I have seen too many developers completely exhausted because of poor scope management and I have seen great projects fail because they completely missed their intended goals. I have also experienced the joy of a project running smoothly precisely because requirements were clear and managed very tightly.
