cSteven Borg and Martin Hinshelwood from Northwest Cadence, both Visual Studio ALM MVPs / Rangers, delivered an interesting and informative talk on Scrum versus Kanban this morning.
The methodology, process and SDLC sessions are often delivered by evangelists who are very prescriptive and critical. Steven and Martin, however, delivered an interactive and thoughtful comparison of the two processes, sharing useful insights into the pros and cons of either and most importantly highlighting the importance of having the freedom of adapting either or both to suit your needs and environment. I, for one, loved this first Coffee Talk and am looking forward to the next.
UPDATE: Northwest Cadence has just announced a “re-match” of the Coffee Talk: Scrum versus Kanban next week. Here are the details:
- Thursday, July 28th
- 12-1pm PST
- Registration link: http://scrumvskanbanrematch.eventbrite.com/
If I recommend you bookmark their Coffee Talk page and pencil the next talks into your calendar!
The good news is that these events are recorded and that they will be offered as podcasts as well, which will allow us to catch-up on missed nuggets on our next bus/train ride
