Introducing the Visual Studio ALM Rangers – Thomas Schissler

Who are you?
I’m Thomas Schissler and I’m a Microsoft MVP for Visual Studio ALM and Professional Scrum Developer Trainer. I work as Coach and Consultant for Team Foundation server and supporting teams to introduce or improve Scrum.
What makes you tick?
I love to make things happen. And software is a great field to make things happen. You need so little, a computer, some brain and some time. But it’s not that easy that you just need to know a programming language. To be successful you need technologies, tools and processes. I love to make software development as productive as possible because if things work fine and the team is productive everybody is happy and has fun. The very interesting part for me is to bring technologies, tools and processes together so that they build a great symbiosis. And this is fun for me to improve this a little step further every day.
Where do you live?
I live and work in a small village close to Ulm, Southern Germany (we have the highest church tower in the world here :) )
Where do you call home?
I was born in Ulm and stayed here my whole live and I love the place because it has everything I need to be happy.
Why are you active in the Rangers Program?
As mentioned above, I love to improve things and this is exactly the job of the Rangers. It’s great to collaborate with great people to find great solutions.
What is the best Rangers project you worked in and why?
The best Rangers project I worked in was the Lab Management project because this is a great guidance to make this cool tool more valuable to users.
