Introducing the Visual Studio ALM Rangers – Robert MacLean

This post is part of an ongoing series of Rangers introductions. See An index to all Rangers covered on this blog for more details.

Who you are?
I am Robert MacLean, I work at BB&D which is a software development company in South Africa where I do research and guidance. I am also a Microsoft VS ALM MVP.

What makes you “tick”?
I my main driving force is to share knowledge and make developers lives easier. The VS ALM Rangers have given me a great platform for to do that.

Where is the place you call home?
I live in sunny South Africa - home of the Soccer World Cup and the Vuvuzela!

Why are you active in the Rangers program?
The Rangers program gives me a great opportunity to share knowledge, learn about Visual Studio/TFS and make great contacts and friends in the process.

What is the best Rangers project you worked in and why?
The TFS Integration Platform has been my favourite for two reasons. First it has been very challenging as I had to learn a system which was being developed and develop an integration solution on top of that. This really tested me and I learnt a lot during it. The second aspect was being able to travel to Canada and Redmond to work directly with the team on the project was an amazing experience which I will remember for ever!
