Introducing the Visual Studio ALM Rangers – Tim Star

This post is part of an ongoing series of Rangers introductions. See An index to all Rangers covered on this blog for more details.

Who you are?
Tim Star, Architect / Senior Developer at Intertech Inc.

What makes you “tick”?
I love solving problems.  My Ideal job would be to sit in an office with a sign over the door that says "problems solved here".  That is, of course, assuming people actually came to my office to ask for help solving their problems.

Where you live?
Eagan MN, USA - a suburb of Minneapolis/St Paul

Where is the place you call home?
Eagan MN, USA - a suburb of Minneapolis/St Paul

Why are you active in the Rangers program?
Being a ranger helps me to keep out in front of technology.  It is also really cool to interact with the folks who actually write the tools I use every day.

What is the best Rangers project you worked in and why?
While I am a member of the VSTT QRG team, I joined too late to make any real impact on the 2010 version but I have volunteered to review some  of the Architecture and TFS Guidance material and Hands On Labs.  The TFS Integration Platform work I did with the rangers turned out to be very timely in that 2 months after I reviewed the labs, I was able to use it in a migration at a new customer.
