The Team Foundation Server (TFS) edition we have been waiting for …

If you are a Visual Source Safe or other equivalent product user, looking for an integrated source control, work item and build automation environment, then make your way to Brian's blog post http://blogs.msdn.com/bharry/archive/2009/10/01/tfs-2010-for-sourcesafe-users.aspx.

"Finally" the cat is out of the bag and we can remove the duck tape that kept us from screaming, ranting and raving.

This specific product has been something that we have long been asking and waiting for! I, for one, am smiling from ear to ear 😀
image … not often that you see me smile … but after Brian’s post, I am 🙂

It is not often that I disagree with Brian either, but today is one of those days … sorry Brian! In his blog post Brian states "... what it lacks from Standard TFS is Sharepoint and Reporting capabilities ...". I believe the word "lacks" is not appropriate, because this is exactly what makes this edition so exciting and powerful.

Get your hands on TFS|VSTS 2010 BETA-2 when it ships and give it a try. Load it on your laptop, load it at home … see it fit into environments from small (you) to enormous (enterprise).
