VSTS Rangers Projects – Project Announcement: VSTS 2010 “101” Guidance Sheets

This is the first of the three projects for which I am currently the dev lead and which are on the verge of commencing as VSTS Rangers Projects. Included in this post is the motivation and the vision of the project, whereby I am more than happy to discuss more details with you if needed. For the sake of text re-use, all text indicated in italic has been copy-pasted from the project announcement emails from Bijan:

This project started as the private hobby of our new core Ranger Willy and was promoted to #4 voted project which somehow amazed me. He has already started this and there is no way we can stop him.

Vision

Create compact guidance for the field to cover VSTS/TFS capabilities

Abstract

Address the core problem of teams in the field being unaware of TFS|VSTS capabilities, ill-equipped to investigate and no time to research TFS|VSTS features. Create a series of 5-minute 101 reference for quick lookup, consisting of one set of the following, for TFS and each VSTS Team Edition: (1) "What is" definition, (2) "What are the new and important features" definition and (3) "Adoption Quick Reference Poster".

The team, made up of VSTS Core and Extended Rangers, Team System MVPs who are not yet Rangers and for the first time Community leads from SA Architect, working on this project is phenomenal and we are looking forward to keep you informed with the progressed of this project in the future.
