Final Update: Friday, July 20th 2018 16:30 UTC
While the Azure team continues to investigate the root cause of the performance degradation while trying to re-image virtual machines, we were able to fully mitigate the issue by increasing the capacity of our machine pools in North Europe in order to clear the build queue that accumulated. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Update: Friday, July 20th 2018 13:31 UTC
The delays in assigning hosted agents has also been noticed with the VS2017 machine pool in addition to the Linux machine pool. Our telemetry shows that the cause of the delay is due to performance degradation while trying to re-image virtual machines that are part of the machine pool. We are currently working with our Azure partner team to understand the root cause of the performance degradation. In the meantime in an effort to mitigate the incident we are adding additional capacity to our machine pools in North Europe to handle the load.
