Issues with Visual Studio Team Services – Build – 09/20 – Mitigated

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal as of September 20th 2017 17:20 UTC. The fix for the build queue failures has been deployed globally. During the incident, customers may have seen the following build queue error: "Value cannot be null. Parameter name: value".

We've identified a fix for the build queue failures. The fix is being rolled out globally and is expected to be fully implemented by September 20th 2017 20:00 UTC. 
Users may see the following error: "Value cannot be null. Parameter name: value". 

  • Work Around: Remove or set values for all secret variables in your build.
  • Next Update: Before Wednesday, September 20th 2017 19:23 UTC

We are currently investigating an issue where users may see build queue failures, and get the following error: "Value cannot be null. Parameter name: value"
A hotfix is being deployed which will resolve the issue.

Work Around: Remove or set values for all secret variables in your build.
