Visual studio 2008 installation crashes while installing .Net framework 3.5

The application event log has the following error message:

Product: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 -- Error 25543.Failed to save changes to XML file C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727\CONFIG\web_mediumtrust.config, system error: -2147024891

We found that there were permissions issues with administration and system accounts. Hence we changed the ownership to Administrators Group from Trusted Installer, and then give Full control access to Administrators and system accounts

In the similar way give full control to other files which are logged in the Windows Application Event Log.
