Microsoft Employee Transportation

Starting on October 6th the Microsoft Connector bus service will expand its number of lines.

In the days of crude oil prices of $120 per barrel and more it is time to think about alternative ways of getting to work. While telecommuting is certainly a great way so save gas and protect the planet, it does not always work. There are plenty of times you must be on campus or in the office to do work, meet in person or attend labs.

Microsoft acknowledged these facts and – as part of our employee benefits – offers a private transportation service. I personally have used the “Microsoft Connector” only a few time before I moved closer to the main campus here in Redmond. Now I can ride my bike to work.

The bus ride is free and after a slight bump the number of passengers, it attracts more and more Microsofties daily.

The new lines starting in October will include areas like Columbia City, Mount Baker, Maple Valley and others. If you are a Microsoft employee and want to ride the cool buses (they have wireless Internet access), sign up for your route on this external website or check out the Intranet portal via MSWeb for all routes.
