Windows HPC Server - Introduction to Job Templates

Job templates are defined by the admin and used by users when submitting jobs to an HPC cluster.

Ming Xu, he's working in a lead position on the Job Scheduler in the HPC team here at Microsoft, has just published a document "Introducing Job Templates" on the HPC community portal www.windowshpc.net. To give you an idea what this document is about and if it is something you should pay attention to, here's the first paragraph:

"In the narrowest sense, a job template serves as a pattern for the creation of jobs. Job templates are defined by the admin and used by users when submitting jobs. Job templates usually define the job parameters for a specific usage of an application. As such, they free the user from having to learn the job scheduler nomenclature before they can submit jobs from the Job Manager UI or the Command Line Interface (CLI). Let us see how a user submits a job using job template."
