Introducing the Visual Studio ALM Rangers – Oliver Smit

Who are you?imageimage

With my roots in Robotics and engineering I have always had a passion for quality and structure within my work. Currently I run the Delivery Discipline at Mint Management Technologies and is mainly responsible for driving the delivery strategy within the business. My focus is on enterprise architecture, delivery process improvement, best practises, quality improvement and the driving of Agile and ALM practises.

In my spare time I am a family man, father and maker fiddling with making just about anything. Electronics, 3D printers, CNC machines, beer and exotic hot sauces to name a few.

What makes you “tick”?

Technology and the application thereof to improve people’s lives. Automation of most mundane tasks to increase efficiency and cut down on wasted time. And most important of all: SOLVING PROBLEMS.

Where you live?

I currently live in centurion in sunny south africa (halfway between the capital city of Pretoria and the business hub Johannesburg)

Where is the place you call home?image

Home is where the heart is, but when I am not working I call the bushveld and the wonderful western cape my second home.

Why are you engaged with the Rangers program?

I am new to the program, but my goal is to help the community with VSTS/TFS tooling by improving the experience and extending on the excellent work done by the product team at MS.
