We received this question from Gary:
I am a bit new to Team Server world. I was asked the question on how would I retrieve all the files that are currently checked out and by whom. This lead to my wandering around VS and the internet for a while and not being able to see an easy solution. So that is where this email comes in. How would I search the Source Control Explorer to get back a report that tells me who has what files checked out and in what is that files path. Secondly, is there query capabilities to look for a word in all files in a directory (I realize I can do this if I pull down all the files but I would prefer not to do that).
In the latest version on Visual Studio Team System, the best way to get this information is by using tf.exe history command.
For more information, see the History Command.
