System Center Virtual Machine Manager Beta 2 available

System Center Virtual Machine Manager Beta 2 is available for download here.

Some of the new features of this release include:

  • New UI (similar to System Center Operations Manager 2007, Service Desk and System Center Essentials)
  • Physical-to-Virtual (P2V) Support (for Windows Server 2000 or Windows Server 2003)
  • Virtual-to-Virtual (V2V) Support (VMware to Virtual Server) 
  • 64-bit VMM server support
  • Full PowerShell support with documentation
  • Better overall performance and scalability
  • Many minor tweaks, fixes and improvements

I have had some time to play with this release ahead of time, and I must say that it is a drastic improvement over (the already good) Beta 1 release.  So whether you have looked at SCVMM already or not - I would highly recommend that you go and give it a try.
