Xargon under Virtual PC

Having got Jill of the Jungle to run - I think I will spend some time playing all of my old Epic Mega games. It seems that though many of these games are quite different stylistically - they all use the same engine - which means that in order to avoid 'sticky keys' you need to run them in a DOS session under Windows 98.

Xargon is a strange platform game where you play an archeologist who gets sucked into an alternate world. I never really got into this game - as the graphics seemed just a bit too weird. Also - I could never get used to the fact that laser bolts were just mysteriously fired from my stomach with no sign of a weapon:

Unlike Jill of the Jungle I did notice some performance issues with Xargon if I enabled the musical sound track. Disabling the music made the game eminently playable. If you want to try this game out for yourself you can download it from here: https://www.dosgamesarchive.com/download/game/157
