Tools, Marketplace Ready for You to Go Live on Windows Phone ‘Mango’

phone7-brandToday you can begin will submitting and certifying Windows Phone ‘Mango’ apps through the Windows Phone App Hub. This means that new and existing titles optimized for Mango features like fast app switching, background audio, multiple and double sided Live Tiles, better Search integration and more will begin publishing in a matter of days. A new SDK is provides you with the tools and ‘Go Live’ license for you to publish to Windows Phone Marketplace. The Microsoft Advertising SDK is included.

In addition, game developers can now submit their games to the new Mango markets.

The announcements were made on the Windows Phone team blog, Marketplace & Tools Open for Mango App Submission.

Windows Phone SDK 7.1

The Windows Phone Software Development Kit (SDK) 7.1 provides you with all of the tools that you need to develop applications and games for both Windows Phone 7.0 and Windows Phone 7.5 devices. You can download the SDK from Windows Phone SDK 7.1 Release Candidate.

This includes a ‘Go Live’ license that enables you to develop and publish applications to the Windows Phone Marketplace.

The Windows Phone SDK includes the following

  • Windows Phone SDK 7.1 (RC)
  • Windows Phone Emulator (RC)
  • Windows Phone SDK 7.1 Assemblies (RC)
  • Silverlight 4 SDK and DRT
  • Windows Phone SDK 7.1 Extensions for XNA Game Studio 4.0
  • Microsoft Expression Blend SDK for Windows Phone 7
  • Microsoft Expression Blend SDK for Windows Phone OS 7.1
  • WCF Data Services Client for Window Phone
  • Microsoft Advertising SDK for Windows Phone
Marketplace Test Kit

The SDK includes the completed Marketplace Test Kit, which allows you to test your app for certification requirements on your machine, running the same technical cert tests that the Marketplace team runs.
