CTP for Single Sign-On Extends Windows Identity Foundation (WIF) v3.5 for SAML 2.0

Windows Identity Foundation logoWindows Identity Foundation (WIF) v3.5 Extension for SAML 2.0 Protocol enables .NET developers to build applications for the enterprise and government that require SAML 2.0 Protocol support and interoperate with identity services on a wide variety of platforms.

The community preview was announced at Tech•Ed and on the team blog at Announcing the WIF Extension for SAML 2.0 Protocol Community Technology Preview.

Key features of this extension include:

  • Service Provider initiated and Identity Provider initiated Web Single Sign-on (SSO) and Single Logout (SLO)
  • Support for the Redirect, POST, and Artifact bindings
  • All of the necessary components to create a SP-lite compliant service provider application
