Toolsets Build Onto Visual Studio for Editing, Navigation, Modeling

Two toolsets that build on the core Visual Studio 2010 platform were announced at TechEd.

Visual Studio 2010 Pro Power Tools focus on improved code editing and navigation, along with new ways to work with files and tab behavior. That includes selecting whole lines of code and text, a searchable Add Reference Dialog, colorized parameter help, and HTML Clipboard and Tab Well support among other extensions.

The Visualization and Model Feature Pack extends the modification and validation functionality of UML 2.0 modeling and Layer Diagrams (C and C++) in Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate. It also includes support for Web site structure (DGML diagrams with dependencies) and C/C++ visualizations. The Feature Pack is available to MSDN subscribers.

The Productivity Power Tools represent the first example of doing that by our team (our partners have done great work as well, check out VS Gallery for more).

Find out more about the tools at Jason Zander’s blog post, Announcing: VS2010 Productivity Power Tools and Modeling Feature Packs.
