Windows Azure platform AppFabric Update

The Service Bus and Access Control features of the Windows Azure Platform, once known as .NET Services, are now known as “Windows Azure platform AppFabric”. Of course, they are still on track to be commercially available this January alongside Windows Azure and SQL Azure. This update reflects our vision of enabling developers to build, scale, manage, and connect applications both on-premises and in the cloud.

AppFabric has two components. Windows Azure platform AppFabric currently includes Service Bus and Access Control, while Windows Server AppFabric currently includes the caching capabilities, formerly codenamed ‘Velocity’, and workflow & service hosting capabilities, formerly codenamed ‘Dublin’.
