If you have passed the Works with Windows Server 2008 application certification Microsoft will pay for you to certification to Works with Windows Server 2008 R2. No charge through October 31. You have your choice of testing partners too.
By developing your applications to comply with Microsoft-recommended practices, you can help your customers deploying your application on the Windows Server 2008 R2 platform.
To help customers include your solution in system migration purchase decisions, publish a statement indicating that customer support will be available for Windows Server 2008 R2 deployments. Include the statement in all product marketing materials, such as:
- product detail pages
- support pages
- product data sheets
- customer newsletters
- press releases
- other customer-facing information
Second Step after you have pledge support, now next step is test your application on the Windows Server 2008 R2 Platform by using a freely downloadable software certification Tool kit at the ISV Application Readiness and Certification page.
Once you complete the compatibility process using the Software Certification Toolkit and other resources, you’ll have access to marketing benefits that help you get the message out to your customers.
Third Step, is software certification. Windows Server software certification programs are intended to help customers quickly differentiate applications that have already been verified to meet the Works with or Certified for logo criteria by an independent third-party lab.
The Works with Windows Server 2008 R2 logo designates applications that have passed basic compatibility tests for Windows Server 2008 R2. This program is a self-test, but the encrypted log files are validated by a Microsoft-authorized test vendor.
The Certified for Windows Server 2008 R2 logo designates applications that have passed the ultimate technical bar for Windows Server 2008 R2 applications, which covers security, stability, reliability, availability, and the basic compatibility tests that compose the “Works with” technical bar.
You can get a trial version suitable for testing your application at Windows Server 2008 R2 Trial Software.
