Win ‘Will Code for Green’ Contest Using Bing API

codeforgreen Some smart developer, team, or Web company will walk away with $10,000 this summer for the most creative and useful Web application using Bing API that either helps your customers:

  • Protect the ecology of the Planet Earth or
  • Cope with the worsening global economy

Submit your URL for your contest entries at Will Code for Green before August 12.

Three overall runners up will receive $3,000 each.

Web-based applications must use the Bing API (which is free) but can also use any other technology platform or programming language in order to accomplish you ultimate purpose. 

The Bing application programming interface (API) Version 2 enables developers to programmatically submit queries to, and retrieve results from, the Bing Engine. This version of the API offers support for multiple protocols.

You can  build applications that can:

  • Retrieve information from the Internet
  • Monetize your application with advertisements
  • Improve and enhance search requests and results
  • Find location-specific information
  • Translate terms and blocks of text

You can retrieve Web pages, images, news, and get instant answers from Encarta.

Final judging will take place at Gnomedex 9.0 Conference in Seattle.
